Krak Colombia Betulia B9, 70% Dark Chocolate, 80g

This bar is made with cocoa beans from the Hacienda Betulia plantation in Colombia. The plantation grows three special heritage criollo cocoa cultivars by grafting, called B6, B8 and B9. For this bar, Mark uses the B9 cultivar, which has a very fruity character.

The beans are white and produce a deceptively light coloured chocolate you might mistake for milk chocolate.

Not unlike Porcelana beans, these beans are produced in relatively small quantities and command a bit of a price premium as a result, but the final product is well worth it.

Taste profile: A complex chocolate with a lot of exotic fruit, nice cocoa taste, notes of spices and pine.
