Krak St. Vincent and the Grenadines 70% Dark Chocolate, 80g

An 80g bar of 70% dark chocolate from Krak Chocolade. The beans are sourced from the islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean.

This bar is vegan friendly and is free from Nuts, Soy, and Gluten. Produced in a factory that does not handle nuts, may contain traces of Lactose.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines! North of Venezuela and between the Caribbean islands of Granada and Barbados is the small island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I did not work with the cocoa from this island for this crazy name.

The cocoa grows all over the island and is managed by the St. Vincent Cocoa Company. They manage 250 hectares of land and buy cocoa from about 100 farmers. The cocoa grows among the corn, banana and ginger plants and in the shade of coconut and mahogany trees. The cocoa is fermented in a central location.

Flavour profile: a full, powerful cocoa with lots of citrus and the zest of lime. Tones of bread and cashews. Just like in wine, the tannins stand out.
